None of us is living a perfect life, or the life that we wish to live for one reason or the other. Although it is virtually impossible to control everything in life, there are many things that we can take control of to live a better a better life. However, most times we fail to control these things, something that usually leads us to a life that we did not wish to live. Fortunately, it is never too late to change and become the better person that you wish to be. Here is how to live better;
Live a healthy and active lifestyle
This is something that I have personally struggled with for a long time. I have always wanted to live a healthy and active lifestyle but I found myself going back to the old unhealthy ways few days after making a resolution. However, some months ago, I decided to change for good and this has really made me a better person.
Exercise regularly not only for your physical health but for your mental health as well. Start working out today and don’t stop. People who work out on a regular basis are generally happier and than the people who don’t work out. Instead of sitting on that chair throughout the day, be physically active. You also have to avoid all the bad foods if you want to lead a healthy lifestyle. Get rid of all the junk food in your refrigerator.
When I resolved to live a healthy life, I went home that day and threw away all the junk food I had in my house. Since then, I have never touched any junk food. Therefore, you can do it too if you are serous about becoming a better person. If there is any sport that you like, take it to become more physically active.
Take time to appreciate all the important people in your life
The best way to be happy with life is by making other people in your life happy. I realized this when I noticed that I felt extremely happy when I saw my family and friends happy because of what I had done to them. Be mindful of other and do things that are going to make them happy.
When you help the community, you will always feel good about yourself. Be patient and tolerant with people and respect their ideas even when you don’t agree. This is one of the how to live better technique that works every time. Establish useful friendships that are going to last a lifetimes. You are a better person with friends that you can depend on and that can make you smile even during the tough times.
Mentor other people
You will definitely become a better person when you become someone else’s role model. Find someone younger than you and mentor them by becoming a good example. When someone is looking up to you, you will always be careful not to do mistakes that may make that person lose faith in you.
This way, you will not only benefit the person that you are mentoring but yourself as well. This will turn your life around, giving you and the person that you are mentoring positive satisfaction. I am mentoring several kids and this is something that has really helped me not lose focus on my journey towards becoming a better person.
Do all the things that you have always wanted to do
Have you ever wanted to do something but you have never got yourself to do it? It is time that you start doing things that you have always thought about doing. Live life to the fullest and don’t be afraid to do anything that gives you positive energy. Don’t give up if you are not successful the first time.
Sometimes, it takes more than once to be successful. Neglecting the things that we love to do in life can make us have a physical, mental and emotional imbalance. You will really be a better person if you take care of your wants. Avoid regret by taking on every once in a lifetime opportunity. Live passionately while practicing moderation. Don’t sacrifice what you believe in temporary pleasure because it will not be worth it in the long run.
